More than 120 hoardings and city lights with images of the Garajonay National Park and parts of the coast of La Gomera lead the new campaign of promotion. The agreement signed between the Department of Tourism of the Island Council of La Gomera and Promotur makes possible the development of the action that will also be reinforced with banners in digital media.
Strolling through Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart, Salzburg or Vienna and finding an image of La Gomera will be all an example from this week onwards, thanks to the new tourism promotion campaign promoted by the Island Council of La Gomera in collaboration with Promotur. The island’s dissemination strategy in the German and Austrian markets is reinforced by a campaign based on images that show spectacular corners of insular geography and are accompanied by the slogan “the sunny oasis of tranquility in Europe”.
The Chairman of the Council, Casimiro Curbelo, stressed the great impact that this campaign will have for the election of La Gomera as a holiday destination for these nationalities. In this regard, he disclosed that in the first five months of the year, Germans and Austrians total more than 214,000 overnight stays on La Gomera.
This promotional campaign of La Gomera will last until mid-July
The insular leader stressed the visual impact of the 120 billboards distributed in both countries, as well as the inclusion of advertising banners in websites specialized in travel. “They are two spaces of promotion that guarantee the visualization on the part of the potential tourists”, he explained.
For her part, the Counselor of Tourism, Maria Isabel Méndez, detailed that the location of hoardings in public spaces with a high influx of visitors will achieve the desired visual impact. “We have chosen locations such as the Parliament Square in Vienna or the main streets of Berlin”, she said.
Mendez also alluded to the inclusion of promotional banners in digital media and in specialized pages as an attractive formula to facilitate the purchases through Internet and surpass the 3 million views. “The objective is to capture interest and encourage tourists to go to travel agencies to buy their vacations”, she said before reminding that this initiative is linked to the agreements reached with more than 500 travel agents in the past TSS congress of the sector.
This promotional action will last until mid-July and adds to those that have been launched last month in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Scandinavia, in addition to the one that takes place in the regional market. Of the latter, the promotional video “La Gomera in all senses” has already reached more than 845,000 people.
