In relation to the use of purified water, the plan includes the realization of a study to determine the cost of transferring these resources to the agricultural farms of San Sebastian and Valle Gran Rey, as they are the treatment plants that have water of sufficient quality to be used in agriculture.
In the management of drinking water, Curbelo explained that “the drafting of the restoration project for the Igualero deposit is finalized and the deposit projects of Los Cardones and Hurona are in process. In addition, we are working on the boreholes of Altiro I and Juel, and on the pumping stations of Enchereda, Los Campos and Juel”, he added.
Regarding the ravines and public channels, the project for the replacement of hydraulic infrastructures in the Barranco de Vallehermoso has been completed, with a budget of 4.8 million euros. At the same time, the digitization study of the San Sebastián irrigation network is being finalized and a project will be commissioned shortly to review the points of demarcation of public watercourses. Citizen education and awareness is another of the points in which progress is made through activities in schools, along with campaigns in companies to promote the saving of water resources.
